Mr. Weng Thong received the B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from University of Hull, UK, and the M.Phil. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Cambridge, UK, in 1995 and 1997, respectively. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree at the University of Leicester, UK.

He was an Engineer in the paper coating industry for a year prior to his studies at the University of Cambridge. He is currently a Research Associate at the University of Leicester. His research interests include power electronic applications of switched reluctance motors and induction motors.
