Kao Chai is a first year, full time PhD student and a member of the Centre for Advanced Electronically Controlled Drives.

He graduated in 2000 from University of Leicester with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

His research interests include the use of Genetic Algorithms in electric machine optimisation.
