The Year's Work in Critical and Cultural Theory is a companion volume to The Year's Work in English Studies, also published for the English Association by Oxford University Press. It provides a narrative bibliography of work in the field of critical and cultural theory, recording significant debates and issues of interest in a broad field of research in the humanities and social sciences. The series will be of interest to scholars working in many areas of literary and critical and cultural studies as well as in media, visual arts, history and political theory.

It is the aim of the editors to represent the shifting nature of the field of cultural and critical theory closely, and the porous nature of the borders between some areas of study. For example, there are important connections between modernism/postmodernism, deconstruction and continental philosophy, and between popular culture and multiculturalism, which can encourage work in new areas of critical and cultural studies.

The Year's Work in Critical and Cultural Theory is edited by Susan Currell and Adriana Bontea, University of Sussex
