Peer English - Submissions

Cover of Peer English

PEER English is an annual refereed journal.

Our approach is open and inclusive, and definition of ‘literary studies’ is broad. We encourage work that considers any literary period, and deploys the whole range of critical strategies used in the discipline today, from traditional close readings, to historically-grounded scholarship and cutting-edge theoretical or interdisciplinary analyses.

For publication in the seventh issue in 2012 we now invite: scholarly essays (2,000–5,000 words), reviews or review essays of recent publications, short articles on research or pedagogical-related themes, thought and opinion pieces. All typescript should be double-spaced, MLA referenced, sent on disk saved as a Word document and accompanied by two hard copies of the text. We also welcome electronic submissions by email, formatted to the same specifications.

A full style sheet of submission guidelines is available by email and should be requested before submitting final copy.

Correspondence and contributions should be sent to

Contributions should be typed, double-spaced, printed on one side of A4 and sent as both hard copy (two copies) and as a Word document on a PC compatible disk.

We also welcome electronic submissions by email, formatted to the same specifications.

Academic papers of 2000-5000 words should also include a detachable title page with the author's name, brief biographical note (maximum 50 words) and an abstract of the article.

The author's name should not appear anywhere else on the article to allow for anonymous academic refereeing.
