Fellows' Poetry Prize 2012 - Rules

  • Closing date for entries: 31 December 2011
  • Poems must be on the theme - anything related to Charles Dickens.
  • Entries must be the original work of the author.
  • Entry is limited to UK residents aged 16 and over.
  • Entries must be in English and should not have been previously published.
  • Poems should not exceed 30 lines (excluding title).
  • All poems will be judged anonymously: the name of the poet must not appear on the manuscript, only on the entry form.
  • Members of the Board of Trustees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the competition.
  • Poems must be typed on one side only of A4 paper: electronic submission is also permitted.
  • Individuals may submit no more than 3 entries.
  • Entries will not be returned.
  • Enclose a Stamped Addressed postcard if you wish to receive an Acknowledgement of Receipt.
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The Association reserves the right not to make an award.

The winning poems will appear in the the English Association's journal English and will later be published here on the website.
