THE COURSE LEADERS
Dr Nick Walton is a Lecturer in Shakespeare Studies at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. He has taught at the Universities of Warwick and Reading, and currently serves as the Executive Secretary to the International Shakespeare Association. He has written the Introduction for the New Penguin edition of Timon of Athens, and has contributed a section on the play in performance for a revised edition of Love's Labour's Lost, also published in the New Penguin series. Nick is a real expert on the plays in performance and can recall many interesting productions in great detail. Listening to Nick share his anecdotes about Shakespeare on the stage is a particular treat as his vivid illustrative examples enhance our enjoyment of a performance or text.
Dr Elizabeth Woledge is a lecturer in Shakespeare Studies at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. She has taught at the Universities of Chester, Liverpool and Manchester (Met.) where she enjoyed devising stimulating seminars for undergraduate students of English literature. Her M.A. focused on Shakespeare's Sonnets and the influence of Plato in Renaissance England, a topic which continues to intrigue and fascinate her. Currently the Editor of our magazine Shakespeare at the Centre Elizabeth is a lively and imaginative teacher who is able to inspire interest in Shakespeare's texts across a range of audiences. Open minded and enthusiastic, Elizabeth will help you explore what Shakespeare can mean to you personally.
