Collection history

The Evacuees Collection comprises 15 interviews and a newspaper cutting. The interviews were conducted for an MA dissertation in English Local History at the University of Leicester in 2001. The collection was deposited with the EMOHA in May 2003.

What the collection contains

The interviews in this collection explore the different experiences of people who were evacuated as children to Leicestershire, from London and other cities and towns under threat of bombing, during the Second World War.
