Conscious
that many members of the Society live overseas or for other reasons are
unable to attend meetings on a regular basis, the Council agreed in June
1997 that a brief news-sheet, outlining the main activities of the Society,
should be enclosed with the Society's autumn mailing. Any suggestions
for expansion or improvement would be welcomed. They should be sent to Matt Townend,
Joint Honorary Secretary, Viking Society for Northern Research, University
College London, Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT.
