This Glossary
This glossary contains around 100 slang terms that have
been collected and researched by myself over the past few months.
The site itself was launched in May 2006 along with
similar projects by other students with interests in various slang fields. I
myself chose to concentrate on the language used daily by my peers at the
University of Leicester. I decided to concentrate on a group of Ten male
students ranging from the ages of 20 to 22, not only because they are a
diverse group, but also due to the ease with which they incorporate
slang terminology in to their everyday language. Originally, the dictionary
was to contain everyday slang terms, I did not set out to uncover vulgar and
sometimes offensive words, however, as it became more apparent that a large
majority of terms could cause offence, this became the actual basis for my
dictionary.
Due to the nature of slang, the terms in this glossary
are likely to offend some readers. This needs to be taken in to account
before searching the dictionary I have compiled as a lot of the entries
relate to taboo subjects such as drugs, sexual activity and genital parts.
