Professor Kevin Lee

Background

Kevin LeeKevin Lee BA PGCE MSc PhD FRSA AcSS is Professor of Economics and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) at the University of Leicester. He studied economics and statistics at the Universities of Sheffield and Bristol and received his PhD from the London School of Economics. Prior to moving to Leicester in 1995, he was a Fellow of Queens' College and a Senior Research Officer of the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Cambridge. At Leicester, he was appointed Dean of the University Graduate School 2003-2008 and Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for Research and Enterprise in 2008/9. He is also currently a member of the ESRC's Training and Development Board and the Executive Committee of the UK Council for Graduate Education. Over recent years, he has been Head of the Department of Economics at Leicester 1999-2002, member of the Advisory Board of the University of Melbourne's Centre for Macroeconomics, an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham, Associate Editor of Applied Economics, and a member of the ESRC’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Panel, Research Studentships Panel and Subject Area Panel. He has completed various research projects in the areas of macroeconomics, labour and industrial organisation, and has published applied econometric articles in journals including the Economic Journal, Journal of American Statistical Association, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Review of Economics and Statistics.
