A reminder that the 2012 East Midlands Oral History Day is on the subject of 'Telling Stories' and will be held at EMOHA, 1 Salisbury Rd, Leicester on Monday 18th June 2012. We have a great line up of speakers this year and you can look forward to hearing from Sally Horrocks on 'National Life Stories: History of British Science', Michelle Winslow on 'End of Life Stories', Helen Bates on the Hyson Green oral history project, Roger Kitchen on digital storytelling, Ruth Page introducing narrative theory, and Pete Davis on storytelling.
To cover costs there will be an admission charge of £5 (£3 for students, retired, unwaged). For further information or to book a place please DO NOT reply to this email - contact Colin Hyde at firstname.lastname@example.org or tel: 0116 2525065. See you on the 18th June!
If you are part of a community group who would like to apply for Heritage Lottery Funding, the University of Leicester might be able to help you. Have a look at this website - http://www.buildingsharedheritages.org/ - and come along to an event at the University on Saturday 16th June.
We have had a query from Dr Sally Horrocks of the University of Leicester who wants to know about any oral history projects which have covered work at Rolls Royce. If you know of any please contact Colin Hyde at email@example.com and I'll pass the information on.
A reminder that the annual Oral History Society conference is coming up in July.
