BULLETIN BOARD

Over 60 participants needed for study of cerebral blood supply.

Subjects are needed to participate in a PhD research project as a volunteer (control subject), in parallel to a study which is currently ongoing in the patients who have had a recent stroke.

The University Of Leicester Department Of Cardiovascular Sciences is undertaking a study to look at the brain’s ability to regulate its blood supply as we get older.

The study involves an ultrasound examination of the arteries in the brain, a measure of your blood pressure, breathing rate and a heart trace recording (ECG). During the recording you will be asked to move your elbow.

Recordings take around an hour, and are performed at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Are you:

• 60 years of age or over?

• Free from atrial fibrillation, stroke or any other neurological disease?

If the answer to these questions is YES and you would be interested in taking part please contact Mrs. Angela Salinet on Tel 0116 252 3188 or e-mail asms2@le.ac.uk
