The University benefits from two sites in easily accessible locations of Leicester. The city campus is signposted ‘University of Leicester’, on major roads entering Leicester and is within walking distance of Leicester mainline rail station. The Halls of Residence, signposted ‘Botanic Gardens and University Halls’ are located 2 ½ miles away in the highly regarded area of Oadby close to Leicester Racecourse.
The University of Leicester is fully committed to its environmental policy. With this in mind we would encourage all visitors to use public transport in the first instance. Should this not be possible complimentary car parking is available on-site at our Oadby location (the City Campus has very limited on-site parking weekdays between 8.30am to 5pm and should be discussed with one of our event organisers prior to your visit who can also advise of alternative off-site parking). In the event that you do travel by car we would ask that you car share wherever possible. On arrival in Oadby, should you find that parking near your intended hall/accommodation area is full, please use one of the other available cark parks and refrain from parking on public roads.
A warm welcome awaits you at the University of Leicester. To help you plan your trip to either the City Campus or Halls of Residence, the following information may be useful.
Before downloading the maps and directions, please ensure you are fully aware of your registration location or designated meeting place.
To help you plan your route we list below postcodes for our main buildings which should enable more effective use of a satellite navigation system.
