What we are doing

Among several initiatives, the University of Leicester has developed an Environmental Sustainability Policy which aims to achieve ‘continual improvement in how it measures and responds to its environmental impacts’. The policy commits the University to several key objectives including:

• Communication of its environmental policy and activities to staff, students and other stakeholders
• The Reduction of its carbon footprint through prudent use of fossil fuels (through energy conservation) and to switch to green fuel alternatives where possible
• The reduction of waste and to encourage recycling in all buildings

The Leicester Conferences team are continually working with suppliers to source products that are considerate to the environment such as recycled paper used for conferences and meetings.
