Research Interests

Overview

The laboratory is taking a variety of molecular, genetic and biochemical approaches to analyse different processes in the model plant, Arabidopsis thaliana. Our primary research interest is in the mechanisms employed during the import of nucleus-encoded proteins into chloroplasts, and this is currently the focus of much of our efforts. A secondary interest has been in the strategies used by plant hosts in controlling the activity of DNA-type transposable elements.
