RSSStartingUni.info and its series of podcasts have been developed as part of the IMPALA4T Project.
IMPALA4T (Informal Mobile Podcasting and Learning Adaptation for Transition) is based in the University of Leicester’s Beyond Distance Research Alliance and GENIE (the University’s Centre of Excellence for Teaching and Learning in genetics), and has involved students from the University’s School of Biological Sciences. The project is investigating the use of student-generated podcasts to help ease the transition from school to university.
An effective transition into university has a positive impact upon the overall learning experience of the student, and it is believed that the informal knowledge provided by students in these podcasts will serve to make such a transition easier.
