Dr Samuel Kotei Nikoi

- Dr Samuel Nikoi professional background is in Information Science and he has work experience which spans a period of twenty-plus years in various capacities and roles. After a few years work with the Ghana Library Board, Sahm joined the British Council in 1990 and subsequently became Head of Information Services of the Ghana office. He was instrumental in the development of information and knowledge products targeted at government policy makers, academic staff in higher education and social development activists.
In 1999 Sahm left the British Council to join the Methodist University as the first Librarian of the newly founded University College. A recipient of Ford Foundation International Fellowship, Sahm completed his PhD in 2005 after which he taught as a Teaching Assistant at Loughborough University and also worked on a number of research projects funded by the NHS and the private sector. He has been a speaker at major international conferences including the European Association for Health Information and Libraries conference (EAHIL) and the SCOLMA conference of the Commonwealth Institute UK. His work at BDRA is investigating how Pocket PCs support portfolio development by Teaching Assistants on a foundation degree programme.
