We are aware that there a number of environmental variables that can be measured to produce a carbon footprint, but for the purpose of the ‘Learning Footprint’ we will focus our attention on twenty student volunteers enrolled on two courses. Both courses cover similar learning objectives but are delivered through different modes.

Student volunteers will be asked to keep a log of the amount of paper they use, the amount energy they consume in the form of electricity & gas and the distance they travel using public or private transport for the duration of a 15 credit module. The data from these logs will be analysed by the project team to calculate the individuals’ learning footprints.
