Welcome to the Institute of Lifelong Learning

The Institute of Lifelong Learning encompasses a range of activities including adult learning, research, and social, cultural and artistic events, as well as the counselling and psychotherapy programme.

We have three teaching centres - Vaughan College and the Richard Attenborough Centre in Leicester, and the University of Leicester Northampton Centre.

Whether you're looking to gain a qualification, progress in your career or simply pursue a particular interest, the Institute offers a wide-ranging programme of part-time degrees, diplomas and certificates from which you can choose to study in the daytime, evening or even by distance learning. Subject areas include humanities, environmental science, business & management and social sciences. In many cases financial assistance is available, from government schemes to bursary funds.

 

The Institute of Lifelong Learning welcomes applications for MPhil/PhD registration, for research in the fields of Counselling and Psychotherapy; Security and Risk Management; and Popular Culture and Spirituality. The Institute is currently offering a PhD Scholarship, with a closing date for applications of 1st November 2009.

 

LILL aims to work closely with partners in the region, including further education colleges, private companies, public-sector organisations and voluntary bodies, to meet their education and training needs and to disseminate research findings.
